The Account Manager – Chassis Technology is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating sales activities of designated customer accounts to ensure goals & objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters in order to maintain current customer account(s) and to achieve growth and profit from the realization of new products and new business opportunities.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Identify key customer interfaces in support of strategic business acquisition with special focus on key projects as defined and agreed with the Key Account Manager and Product Line organization.

  • Utilizes product development experience to leverage marketing strategies and identify new business and market opportunities.

  • Serves as the primary liaison between sales and other department for product development initiatives and engineering programs.

  • Establish sales forecasts, evaluate competition, develop pricing strategies and evaluate market growth opportunities

  • Support development of  customer platform and product roadmap strategy in support of Product Line key acquisition project identification and associated actions towards quote and resulting award.

  • Review blueprints, specs, and other customer documents with associated ZF team members, i.e. engineering, to develop and prepare ‘what if’ proposals for customer.

  • Project Acquisition manager for all new business acquisition activities, following the ZF Chassis Technology Group Development Process and all associated group work instructions.

  • Support review of customer contracts and associated documents following the ZF Chassis Technology development process.

  • Support the project team under the leadership of the project manager with all commercial topics during the product development phases. Topics include change requests, tool orders, purchase orders, etc.

  • Support the project team on all customer technical and quality concerns and issues working towards timely resolution.

  • Represent ZF Chassis Technology in front of assigned customer(s) including organizing customer meetings and reviews as needed.

  • Support creation of sales contracts, quotations, internal sample orders for products & services per the ZF Chassis Technology processes.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, etc., as well as establishing and expanding professional networks.

  • Participate in the development and continuous improvement of departmental guidelines and procedures.

  • Comply with all ZF Quality Systems Management policies and procedures

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 4-6+ years  experience in sales, account management, engineering or a combination

  • Knowledge of Automotive Sales, OE account management, or inside sales and customer service and relationship initiatives

  • Solid problem solving and analytical skills

  • Interpersonal, communications and listening skills

Preferred Skills and experience:

  • JOEM Customer Experience

  • Product Engineering / Program Management background

  • SAP experience

  • German and/or Spanish language skills
