Job Description
At ZF Off-Highway Solutions Minnesota Inc., our team is at the forefront of innovation, designing and building cutting-edge hydraulic and electrohydraulic components, controls, and brake systems that power off-highway machines around the world.
As a Senior Test Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in bringing these advanced products to life by developing the automation equipment that performs the testing. You’ll dive deep into product requirements and craft comprehensive test plans that ensure our systems perform flawlessly in the toughest conditions.
What you can look forward to as a Senior Test Engineer:
- Researching and implementing new technologies in electrohydraulic test equipment
- Overseeing development of complex test equipment and systems incorporating mechanical, hydraulic, electronic and software design
- Developing test methods and systems to simulate real world usage conditions
- Writing software (LabVIEW, PLC, etc) to control and monitor complex test programs
- Researching and understanding industry standards as they relate to physical and electrical environmental product compliance and lifetime testing
- Interfacing with product engineering teams during the development process
- Planning and overseeing the execution of test programs for product development from concept to production (serial) release
- Developing methods of analyzing data to create reports and other documentation based on data acquired during prototype, environmental and lifetime testing
Your Profile as Senior Test Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field; Master’s degree is preferred.
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Skilled and motivated in technical writing and process development
- Highly organized with exceptional project management and risk assessment skills
- Ability to research, interpret, and implement test standards, and identify, analyze and solve problems
- Knowledge of mechanical design, 3D modeling, hydraulic theory and system design
- Knowledge of sensors, automation, communication protocols, and industrial electrical wiring
- Knowledge of LabVIEW, PLC and other automation languages
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future.
The expected base compensation for this role is $88,200 - $126,500 annually. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position. (This includes pay ranges for Eng II and Eng III levels.)
