ZF’s Off-Highway Business Unit is part of the company’s Industrial Technology Division, which also includes Marine, Rail, Special Driveline and Wind Power applications. The Off-Highway team designs and manufactures hydraulic and electrohydraulic components, controls, and brake systems for off-highway applications.  We offer a robust product portfolio focusing on reducing consumption and emissions, increasing productivity, driving comfort and safety as well as increasing the ease of operation and reducing noise. ZF is enabling the next generation of mobility to the world’s toughest machines.

 

We are hiring a Lead HR Specialist at our North Mankato facility.  This individual will lead the HR function for 200 employees at the plant and will report into the corporate HR team which is located at the ZF NA headquarters in Livonia, Michigan.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Annually review and make recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.
  • Update and implement applying Local Operating Procedures
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to ensure organization's compliance.
  • Develop, maintain and implement functional Local Operating Procedures (LOP’s) for the HR function.
  • Plan and develop programs designed to foster positive attitudes toward company goals, to ensure compliance with federal and state laws (i.e. Affirmative Action Plan)
  • Advise leadership group of company policy regarding equal employment, compensation and benefits, health, safety and training.
  • Works with managers in preparing forecasts to project employment needs.
  • Promote and engage in the principles of employee involvement, team building and continuous improvement.
  • Maintains data quality in human resources information systems (HRIS) and manages personnel transactions 
  • Work closely with ZF’s Global Talent Acquisition team on recruitment needs within the business unit.
  • Facilitate onboarding and orientation for newly hired employees
  • Perform other HR duties as assigned.

 

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with 8+ years of progressive HR experience.
  • Strong understanding of HR functions including, employee relations, performance management, compensation, training, benefits administration, recruiting, and payroll.
  • Previous experience with HRIS systems (preferably PeopleSoft, SAP SuccessFactors).
  • Excellent communication, leadership and planning skills with proven experience driving transformational change.
  • PHR/SHRM certification is highly preferred.
