Job Description

The ZF Off-Highway Solutions Minnesota Inc. team designs and manufactures hydraulic and electrohydraulic components, controls, and brake systems for off-highway machines. 

The EHS Specialist will be responsible for maintaining safety, environmental and security compliance throughout the facility through program development, training, auditing and driving continuous improvement. A key to success for this role is strong EHS skills, involved presence within the facility, and a strong level of knowledge and experience with Microsoft systems. 

In addition, the EHS Specialist works collaboratively with company leaders, employees, maintenance team, and external service providers to ensure our facility, infrastructure, and physical grounds are properly maintained to provide continuous, uninterrupted service, while ensuring safety.

What you can look forward to as the EHS Specialist:  
•    Compile data for OSHA compliance 
•    Manage Workers Compensation related issues 
•    Develop training programs as required  
•    Provide Safety/Environmental communications 
•    Serve as a representative for Corporate/Global Safety and Health activities 
•    Assist with implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
•    Address any immediate repair needs for facility infrastructure, grounds, parking lot, machinery, and systems
•    Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and address potential issues before they become serious problems
•    Oversee the physical condition of the building, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and structural integrity 
•    Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair work
•    Plan and oversee facility renovation projects and equipment upgrades and replacement
•    Coordinate with other departments to minimize disruptions during facility projects and maintenance work
•    Communicate with management, supervisors, and external stakeholders regarding facility-related tasks
 
Your Profile as the EHS Specialist: 
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Science, or Technical Field preferred. Extensive experience may be considered in lieu of degree.  
•    Proven knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations 
•    Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
•    Experience working with vendors, contractors, and service providers preferred
•    Excellent communication skills
•    The ability to facilitate meetings and trainings with internal and external stakeholders
•    Intermediate experience with ERP Systems preferred
•    Intermediate experience with Microsoft Suite
