Quality Engineer-QMS

We are looking for a new colleague to join our Quality Department at our plant in Newton, NC!

 

Position Summary: Manage and support organizational development by assisting management with the planning, implementation, measurement, and improvement stages of the Quality Management System, i.e., IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ensuring KPI’s and risk assessments are utilized.  This includes management of the Quality System, Change Management, Document Control, and Audit Program.


Position Roles: 

  • Maintain the effectiveness and efficiency of QMS/Change Mgt/Audit Program and report to Quality Manager/Management.
  • Lead and coordinate all QMS/Change Management activities for the plant.
  • Review, plan, select, develop, and implement QMS/Change Management documentation and required specifications.
  • Develop Audit programs for all systems and manage activities related to audit programs. 
  • Ability to support Quality Engineering on special projects as needed.
  • Interact as a liaison between the facility and all internal and external resource for the facility to meet common goals as related to QMS/Change Management.
  • Maintain all requirements and activities as IATF/ISO Plant representative.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Manage systems for QMS/Change Management outcomes to identify areas in need of improvement and apply a variety of problem-solving techniques and design activities to improve effectiveness of systems of QMS.
  • When appropriate, develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and activities using instructional models and apply appropriate training techniques to ensure appropriate training in the QMS/ Change Management.
  • Implement and monitor appropriate documentation to ensure all essential areas of QMS/ Change Management are documented according to ISO Standards/Customer Specific Requirements and LMN standards.
  • Manage the internal audit system to ensure adequate attention is applied to the QMS/Change Management for successful outcomes for the facility.
  • Manage and support the external audit process to ensure positive outcomes for all required/desired certifications.
  • Manage, coordinate, and report all changes in cEngis including leading team meetings to drive closure toward timeline as it relates to Change Management.
  • Manage and coordinate all SAP changes for material in coordination with the change management.

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical area with automotive manufacturing experience or Associates Degree with plan to obtain bachelor’s degree.
  • Hands on experience in automotive manufacturing.
  • Ability to create and/or manage database files including macros.
  • Good time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office – PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Ability to identify and escalate problems to management as pertains to the QMS/Change Management.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
