Job Description

About the Team: ZF Chassis Components in Newton, NC, is a dynamic manufacturing plant with over 240 employees dedicated to producing high-quality chassis components and supplying several major OEMs. The facility is equipped with advanced CNC machines, welding equipment, plastic injection machines, and automated assembly equipment. The production team is led by a Production Supervisor who oversees three team leads and their teams of 40-50 associates. The supervisor role covers the 3pm-11pm shift, ensuring smooth and efficient operations during these hours. 

 

What you can look forward to as a Production Supervisor:

  • Responsible for team leadership for up to fifty (50) in a production or department team. Serve as liaison between associates and company.
  • Ensure safe and issue free work environment. Ensures the quality of the product to meet or exceed customer requirements.
  • Maintains and improves performance of production process.
  • Directs the production departments by regulating, coordinating, planning, assigning, resolving problems, disciplinary actions, and assuring compliance with company safety, work procedures, housekeeping, and preventive maintenance.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance of associates, provide constructive feedback (written reviews, corrective counseling, etc.), support to meet expectations, maintain open door communication, and promote an issue free environment.
  • Represents the team by reviewing important information with them, relays information, and makes necessary inquiries to expedite projects in areas (such as manpower, project status, process changes/problems, customer release complaints, etc.). Manages and assists team/department to achieve goals and process information (productivity, scrap work, accident reduction, etc.).
  • Analyze operations, oversee set ups for new jobs, analyze machine/equipment malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments where needed.
  • Runs meetings (communication, safety, etc.) using problem solving techniques, maintains minutes, and follows up on action plans to direct production operations and department to comply with all company, division, and customer quality requirements.
  • May be required to work modified schedule to support customer requirements (i.e.: overtime, vacation coverage, off-shifts, 8 and/or 12-hour schedules, holidays, etc.).

 

Your profile as a Production Supervisor:

  • High School Diploma required (Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred).
  • 2+ years of supervisory/managerial experience in a manufacturing setting (Automotive Industry experience preferred).
  • Proven leadership ability and strong people skills (motivation, communication, problem resolution).
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Working knowledge of CNC machine centers, plastic injection machines, welding equipment, and automated assembly equipment preferred.
  • Must be available and flexible (including weekends) to meet customer requirements.
