GENERAL SUMMARY: Provide ongoing technical support, support of production equipment. Perform PMs and calibrations, equipment. Support new Product Launch, SMT equipment readiness activity




· Works under minimal supervision. Performs SMT Preventative / Predictive Maintenance without assistance.

· knowledge in SMT machines Panasonic.

· knowledge in inspection machine SPI and AOI.

· knowledge in profile SMT oven.

· knowledge in screen printer process.

· Identifies, documents, and works to improve equipment reliability in area of responsibility. Aim – increase Mean Time Between Failures, reduce Mean Time to Repair.

· Identifies and Understands and is able to explain how each of the processes.

· understands the functionality of all test systems boards. Troubleshoots and repairs test system boards to component level.

· Understands multi-page schematics and can explain the signal path of several boards from several different test systems.

· Knowledgeable of the stock room lay-out, and is able to requisition parts, tools, etc as needed.

· Uses the Failure Analysis Report System (FARS) to analyze system performance and to evaluate recent repairs, issues and failure modes.

· Proficient at basic soldering. Work to improve job related skills.

· Documents and Evaluates current procedures with the aim of improving them.

· Respond promptly to production calls, quickly identify and resolve issues to reduce downtime, avoid delayed or missed shipments.

· Troubleshoot Windows and PLC based OEM and custom designed equipment from system level down to individual component.

· Utilize the following equipment in the troubleshooting and repair process: digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, hand and power tools, soldering/de-soldering equipment and environmental ovens.

· Perform Functional Test Fixture Preventative Maintenance, pogo changes and hardware replacements.

· Mechanical assembly/disassembly of fixtures to remove and replace hardware, pogo blocks, masks and wiring harnesses as required.

· Responsible that all PM's get done on time and avoid delinquent work orders.

· Take ownership of PM Activities and provide feedback about improvements to schedule, frequencies and procedures based on quantitative data.

· Monitor burn-in cart and chamber performance to maintain acceptable yield levels.

· Perform data collection, analysis, and presentation activities on unscheduled and scheduled maintenance events.

· Assist in the continuous improvement of test yields and increase MTBF with quick, accurate identification and resolution of equipment problems.

· Perform other duties as assigned

· Comply with and support the health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures.




· AS Technical degree in related field with 3 years related experience; or BS technical degree in related field with 1 year related experience; or 2 years as a “Technician II”

· Must be available for rotating shifts.

· Demonstrated in-depth electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

· Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

· Working knowledge of basic mechanics, electricity/electronics or pneumatics.

· Must complete Basic Solder training.

· Good analytical skills.

· Familiarity with personal computing software (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, Visio, MS Project, MS PowerPoint.).

· Familiarity with Schematic Capture Software
