Sr. Quality Engineer CUSTOMER

· Participate in FMEA, DV, PV and process launch teams.

· Lead the customer quality function by implementing the AIAG defined APQP processes.

· Create and maintain documentation for product/process.

· Assess effectiveness of plant-wide quality systems including training for ongoing improvements.

· Implement and maintain internal and customer quality systems.

· Lead all aspects of the RMA (Return Material Analysis) process for assigned customer.

· Complete root cause analysis of returns using a structured problem-solving approach and appropriate tools.

· Apply verbal and written communications skills in periodic and special reports/presentations both internally and with customers.

· Monitor customer databases and portals for quality related feedback and scorecards.

· Interface directly with assigned customer(s) to resolve open issues related to launch, changes and returns.

· Analytical problem solving, team building, and decision-making skills.

· Perform other duties as assigned

· Comply with and support the health, safety, and environmental programs, policies and procedures.

· Write formal 8D reports and communicate findings to customers.






· Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline with seven years experience in an electronics manufacturing engineering environment (thru-hole, SMT, final assembly, packaging); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Experience with automotive quality-related activities such as SPC, DOE, FMEA.

· Apply verbal and written communication skills in regular and special reports/presentations both internally and with customers.

· Six Sigma Green belt/Black belt experience desired.

· Analytical problem solving, team building, and decision-making skills.

· Experienced in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, Visio.

· Good project management and organizational skills.




· Operation of computer, keyboard, mouse.

· While performing the duties of this job, employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; to reach with hands and arms; and to talk and hear.

· Employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, walk, bend, crouch or crawl. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
