ZF is looking to hire a Sr. ADAS Mechanical Engineer to join our team at our state of the art R&D center located in Monterrey Mexico

 

Advanced-level professional engineer responsible for the primary planning, scheduling, coordination, and lead execution of detailed phases of engineering work as part of a major project/program or as a total project of moderate scope. Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Leads others in activities concerned with technical developments, customer interaction, and resolving engineering design and test problems. Work requires one to have a specialized knowledge of the particular engineering application and this position requires one to leverage background and understanding of engineering, customer, product, and manufacturing processes to make impactful decisions.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer for ADAS, you will design and develop ZF ADAS electronics products, including front and surround-view cameras and related ECUs.  These camera products support many ADAS features, including Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), along with other functions such as Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), Park Assist, Surround View and E-Mirror.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize change management processes to facilitate engineering changes
  • Utilize engineering disciplines including Six Sigma, DFMEA, DFM/DFA and CAE to develop robust design solutions.
  • Understand and demonstrate a working knowledge of product designs, materials and process technologies fundamental to advanced vision systems.
  • Generate concise and effective analyses, reports and presentations for both internal and customer focused discussions and reviews.
  • Lead vehicle integration activities.
  • Analyze customer CAD data & vehicle packaging environment.
  • Lead/support the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and integration of electronics and optical systems.
  • Understand automotive customer requirements, project milestones, technology relevance and capability.
  • Generate project timelines and execute plan to established milestones.
  • Understand system level requirements driving cost capable component level designs.
  • Component/System validation test definition and support.

 

Key Competencies:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field desired.
  • 7+ years of Automotive Mechanical Engineering and design experience.
  • Knowledge of packaging for electronics
  • Strong Microsoft suite skills including PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Experience/knowledge of optical systems is desired
  • Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of internal/external clients.
  • Strong sense of urgency and personal commitment.
  • Able to contribute to strong and dependable teams.
  • Possesses excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Highly motivated and disciplined in time management.
  • Proficient using and understanding GD&T.
  • Experience calculating Tolerance stack-up between mechanical components.

 

Education and Experience:

 

Education:  Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or related field desired

 

Experience: 7+ years of Automotive Mechanical Engineering and design experience
