We are looking to hire a E- Mobility Design Engineer to join our team at Monterrey.



  • The Application Design Engineer is the customer contact for all advanced design related topics. They are responsible for executing and ensuring the on-time development of reliable electric driveline applications, manufacturability of new or modified products, meeting customer specifications, and maintaining company standards. In addition, they support internal departments with business development, capacity, and continuity. 
  • Support customer(s) with all design related topics (e.g. development and quality issues, cost down workshops).
  • Conducts independent analysis of design engineering specifications to support internal and external customers.
  • Perform/direct all necessary calculation/design studies to define a functional electric driveline application.
  • Define, design, and release modifications to parts and customer specific parts for existing axle drives.
  • Manage design-related timelines to ensure on-time delivery of electric driveline design documentation.
  • Validates and determines feasibility of customer specifications to ensure successful implementation.
  • Follow the design procedures and specifications established by division R&D.
  • Execute the on-time delivery of new and updated drawings and bills of material (BOMs).
  • Support System and Design FMEA with engineering quality department.
  • Support internal departments in obtaining customer approval for design changes and deviations.
  • Support calibration, controls, prototyping, component, system testing and vehicle launch activities.
  • Collaborate with customer, suppliers, internal ZF Global R&D and other engineering teams (program management, test, plant and resident) on design related topics.
  • Ensure completion of all 8-Ds for design-development issues.
  • Provide training and support the work of other as requested.
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs and support team efforts.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with all IATF16949 policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.




• B.S. in Engineering
• 5-6 years of experience in applications engineering or product design/development and an ability to train others (internship/co-op included)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software
• Knowledge of powertrain and/or axle technology
• Ability to train others, ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills and good verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to persuade others in technical arguments
• Demonstrated ability to work independently manage multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated)
• English language competency
• Ability/willingness to travel (up to 25%)
