ZF is looking to hire a Principal Hardware Engineer - Electronics to join our team at our state of the art R&D center located in Monterrey Mexico. 


  • Lead/support the design, and development, and analysis of hardware schematics, BOMs & layouts of ADAS modules 
  • Utilize engineering disciplines including Electrical Engineering Process Management, Six Sigma, DFMEA, DFM/DFA, WCA, to develop robust design solutions 
  • Understand and demonstrate a working knowledge of product designs, components and process technologies fundamental to advanced vision systems 
  • Generate concise and effective analyses, reports and presentations for both internal and customer focused discussions and reviews 
  • Analysis of sensor and system performance 
  • Develop system/component test plans and processes 
  • Verify Hardware design against requirements  
  • Lead/support supplier discussions
  • Develop test instrumentation and/or support hardware
  • Create interface control documents 
  • Understand automotive customer requirements, project milestones, technology relevance and capability 
  • Generate project timelines and execute plan to established milestones 
  • Understand system level requirements driving cost capable component level designs 
  • Check and ensure quality of engineering deliverables
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years of combined experience in Electrical Engineering and Design
  • bility to read, analyze and interpret complex documents, circuits, datasheets, and requirements 

  • Design and layout experience with high speed digital components and circuits 

  • Capability to use lab tools, equipment, and techniques to verify circuit operation 

  • Microprocessor, DSP, Power Supply, and DDR experience is required 

  • Extensive use of simulation tools, including: Signal integrity, power integrity, and measurement techniques for DDR 

  • Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of cross-functional teams

  • Experience with CMOS sensors, Lenses, and optical systems 

  • Experience with FPGA  

  • Business fluent in written and verbal English
