Job Summary:

Perform shipping and receiving activities, cycle counter and material handling tasks as needed including moving material using an industrial vehicle and maintaining the accuracy of inventory records and transactions.

 

Job Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for material moves in the facility and perform appropriate scanning transactions.
  • Delivery and collection of carts/pallets/totes to and from point of use, department, warehouse, truck, or other areas according to defined schedule.
  • Load or unload trucks as required.
  • Must follow work instructions, safety rules and proper response to hazardous materials.
  • Support standardized work processes and promote teamwork.
  • Must be certified to operate the material handling equipment including tugger, forklift
  • Performs daily required equipment checks and operates all equipment safely and in accordance to company policy.
  • Responsible for checking all carts and racks associated with the tugger to ensure that they are safe for operation
  • Assist the team in training new operators.
  • Maintain housekeeping practices in accordance to 5S and TPM standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts (ZFPS) and provide feedback.
  • Comply with IATF, ISO 9001, TS 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Performs special projects as requested and related tasks as needed
  • Ship finished products to customers with all proper documentation; scheduling trucks for same.
  •  Manage ZF owned, supplier owned, and customer owned packaging with proper documentation; coordination of shipments, accuracy of inventory.
  • Responsible for providing requested or expected information to customers as required.
  • Verify packaging worthiness for all outbound shipments.
  • Verify outbound product-serial numbers, part numbers, etc., if product arrives in a condition to verify.
  • Work with Supply Chain Specialist to confirm that all customer requirements are met and to correct any discrepancies that could jeopardize on-time shipping.
  • Work with carriers to ensure timely delivery, pickup and adherence to plant rules and regulations
  • Adhere to all quality notifications.
  • Coordinate shipment staging, preparation, and loading as applicable.
  • Generate all necessary shipping and receiving documents utilizing SAP
  • Responsible for proper and complete ASN transmission (web data base updating or standard EDI through SAP).
  • Must adhere to ITAR and EAR regulations and ensure that all relevant shipments meet the requirements and are noted as such as applicable.
  • Ship goods from the establishment, prepare records of goods shipped, make bill of lading, post weight and shipping charges and keep files of shipping records.
  • Receive incoming shipments of merchandise of other materials, verify correctness of shipments against bills of lading, invoices, etc.
  • Keep records of goods received; report damaged goods and shortages
  • Route goods to proper departments
  • Maintain a formal cycle count program using the ABC method to record random accuracy of components.
  • Perform additional cycle counts as needed to resolve inventory accuracy.
  • Analyze, identify discrepancies between physical count and computer records. Involve other departments or functions as necessary.
  • Maintain cycle count database and reports and meet cycle count performance measurement.
  • Participate in corrective action and problem-solving meetings relative to cycle count issues.
  • Carry out dock audits of vendors, as required.
  • Assist in locating misplaced inventory.
  • Record appropriate transaction to SAP/MES system.
  • Reports any safety concerns or violations and suggest safety improvements.
  • Supports standardized work processes and team oriented goals.

    Essential Skills and Experience:                   

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of work-related shipping and receiving experience.
  • 1 to 2 years work related experience material handling
  • Valid drivers license
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work in a team environment. 
  • Basic English language competency required.
