Financial Analyst

Position Summary:  The Financial Analyst is working as a business partner to manage costs and capital investments, maintain regular accounting records, develop plans related to operating budgets and business expenses, and compile financial reports for cost audit/allocation purposes, all with the overall objective of increasing profitability through cost reduction and cost control.

 

Duties:

  • Assist with closing journal entries, reconciliation and reporting.
  • Responsible for track and maintain accurate sales price and SPV analysis, and customer profitability reporting.
  • Participate in the preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
  • Control, track, and report capital and asset investment programs, including overseeing approvals, tracking actual to budget, meeting program targets, and ensuring appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Work with production and other departments on tracking cost saving, process improvement, and provide other financial advice and supports.
  • Communicate and educate other departments on the cost center spending and variances, change management tracking, and quoting.
  • Advise management on operational adjustments based on detailed financial analysis.
  • Keep Senior Manager Finance/Controlling informed of financial status of business unit and potential issues.
  • Work with other departments to improve inventory accuracy and accounting methods. Participate in all physical inventory/cycle counts.
  • Assist in both internal and external audit, and SAPRO.
  • Ensure and improve internal controls based on Corporate Policy and Directives.
  • Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time – quite often on short notice.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Comply with all TS16949 policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting/Finance (Bachelor’s preferred)
  • 2-3+ years of experience
  • Working knowledge of ad-hoc financial analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in an intercultural environment with international colleagues
  • Ability to influence and engage personnel and management at multiple levels within internal and external organizations
