General Summary:
Provide ongoing technical support of In-Circuit, Hot Board, Burn-In, In-Line Flash, Imager/SFR, Inertial/Rollover, Leak, and Functional Test equipment. Floor support of production test equipment. Perform PMs and calibrations on production test equipment.

 

Duties & Responsibilities
•    Works under general supervision. •    Support of production test equipment during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events.
•    Performs a full array of system to tooling level Preventive Maintenance activities. Maintains and monitors on-time completion of scheduled PMs through MP2 system.
•    Identifies, documents, and works to improve system reliability by increasing Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and reducing Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
•    Interprets multi-page schematics and wiring diagrams.
•    Troubleshoots Windows and PLC based OEM and custom designed equipment from system level down to individual component defect.
•    Utilizes stock room spares for quick system recovery.
•    Uses process performance data systems to evaluate recent repairs, issues, and failure modes. Documents and evaluates current repair and maintenance procedures with the aim of improving them.
•    Proficient at basic soldering. Performs reliable repairs to test fixtures and circuit boards.

•    Responds promptly to production downtime calls, works to quickly resolve issues, and responds to changing production priorities.
•    Uses on-line reporting tools to record and report on all daily repair activities. Uses historical data to assist with troubleshooting and chronic issue identification.
•    Utilizes various equipment in the troubleshooting and repair process, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, hand & power tools, soldering equipment and environmental ovens. •    Utilizes various OEM and ZF software systems for test system monitoring and diagnostics.
•    Assists engineering with various new product launch and continuous improvement activities.
•    Assists other maintenance teams where core competencies are applicable.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.
•    Comply with and support the health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures.

 

Job Specifications

•    AS Technical degree in related field with 2 years related experience; or BS technical degree in related field with 1 year of related experience; or 2 years as a “Technician II” 
•    Must be available for periodic coverage of other shifts.
•    Demonstrated in-depth electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills. •    Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics. 
•    Working knowledge of basic mechanics, electricity/electronics, and pneumatics.
•    Must complete Basic Solder training.
•    Good analytical skills.
•    Experience with on-line reporting tools
•    Experience with various types of technical documentation 
•    Familiarity with Microsoft Office Utilities (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint). 
 

Physical Demands

•    Operation of computer, keyboard, mouse.
•    While performing the duties of this job, employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; to reach with hands and arms; and to talk and hear. 
•    Employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. •    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
