Engineering Support Manager

  • Responsible for establishing and achieving overall new product launch manufacturing targets.
  • Responsible for industrial engineering standards, capacity & capital planning, long range planning (LRP), plant layout, packaging, and plant moves and rearrangements.
  • Will develop plans and strategies to ensure both new and existing process, test, and CIM technologies are integrated into production to support both new product launch as well as for additional capacity/capability, respectively.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in introducing cost-effective new process and support technologies.
  • Oversee the management and forecasting of functional resource requirements based on satisfying customer launch schedules and existing business growth.
  • Responsible for establishing and meeting annual program budgets, engineering department budgets, and capital & tooling budgets.
  • Provide leadership in developing, implementing, and supporting cost-effective, streamlined business processes and practices.
  • Provide reports in both structured and non-structured formats on project status and issues.
  • Oversee the direction, guidance, and performance reviews of eight department managers (direct reports).
  • Responsible for resource allocation/management for the departments as well as projects and provide performance appraisal input to functional manager for personnel assigned to projects / programs.
  • Facilitates plant communication to GE program management and design on schedule/budget/performance issues and fosters direct communication between program management, design, and plant launch team management on specific issues.
  • Responsible for providing overall technical direction and functional management of manufacturing engineering.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Comply with and support the health, safety, and environmental programs, policies and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline with a minimum of ten years experience in an electronics manufacturing engineering environment.
  • Advanced degree in engineering or a technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years experience in project management or product engineering.
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMPC) preferred.
  • Previous experience in electronics manufacturing engineering and management in a high volume manufacturing environment
  • Previous manufacturing operations management experience in a high volume environment preferred.
