About the team:

The team focuses on analyzing data to identify issues, using engineering principles and technology to resolve equipment reliability problems and implement continuous improvements. They develop documentation, train personnel, and manage projects aimed at automation, waste reduction, and cost benchmarking. The team also leads technology development, manages contractor support, and ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies while maintaining a lean manufacturing mindset.

Your responsibilities as a Controls Engineer:

  • Acquires and analyzes data to define problems and determine the results of changes. 
  • Uses pareto analysis to refine data into actionable plans. 
  • Solves acute and chronic equipment reliability issues using physics, engineering principles, and technology.
  • Reads solutions across to like equipment / component applications.
  • Develops process and equipment documentation.  
  • Trains maintenance and operations personnel on new processes, materials, and equipment.  
  • Documents equipment changes; mechanical, electrical, controls.
  • Leads new technology development with emphasis in continuous improvement and benchmarking cost & reliability. Focused on automation of new and current processes, maintaining a lean manufacturing mindset.
  • Hands-on timely completion of small - large scale projects designed to eliminate waste.
  • Interfaces and manages contractor support.
  • Implements company goals within a team structure and as an individual.  
  • Trains maintenance technicians on technology and root cause analysis (RCA) process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Your profile as a Controls Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering field
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Capable of reading mechanical CAD drawings with understanding drafting principles and reading electrical schematics and writing program code using Rockwell (preferred), Siemens and other controls platform
  • Strong electrical / Rockwell (preferred), Siemens and other controls aptitude and hands-on capability
  • Experience in the development and execution of designed experiments (DOE’s)
  • Team leadership and project management skills with the capability to communicate and influence others
  • Experience utilizing problem-solving and decision-making tools
  • Experience in Poke-Yoke equipment and processes
  • Strong experience with robot programming, Stäubli (preferred) and Universal robotics 
  • Lean manufacturing mindset with a focus on automating processes
