Machining Specialist

Your role:

A. New Product Introduction for machining area (% of time = 60%)

• Business case development activity - Capacity determination, machine selection, manpower requirement, payback calculation.
• Lead & responsible to review new turning drawing and provide DFM.
• Lead the development of new products and processes being launch to production.
• Lead to release of machining process designs by validating the specifications.
• Co-ordinate on all CNC Milling related activities on the project and achievement of the project based on customer specification and requirements.
• Write technical report and present status/progress and results.
• Work closely with setter (First Article) on the setup/troubleshoot/finetune and quality issue.
• Study NPI part for the type of machining process required as per current facility set-up.
• Responsible for the QMS, FMEA and Process Validation.
• Responsible in R&D for manufacturing (FMEA & DFM).
• Manage a project to keep in track with smooth based on the customer target date.
• Training and develop engineer and programmer with the required software.

B. Support Mass production and troubleshooting requirement (% of time = 30%)

• Project transfer to plant for mass production
• Provide technical support for solving machining issues
• Responsible for process determination & process improvement for CNC machining.
• Support to manage existing and new product processes and workflows,
• Implement improvement to increase process efficiencies, reduce costs/wastes.

C. Jigs, Fixture and Spare parts control (% of time = 10%)

• Responsible for the initial design and setup of new program in machine to produce new product lines, tools, jig and fixtures.
• Utilize measuring equipment used in the industry such as callipers, micrometre, height gauge and other equipment needed to complete work.

Your profile:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent. 5 – 8 years of working experience in CNC milling environment preferably in metal fabrication or equivalent. Min 2 years handling in multi-axis CNC Machine on Aluminum and Steel. Strong Knowledge on Aluminum / Steel product characteristic.
• Good understanding and knowledgeable of Quality Standards i.e. ISO 14001, ISO 9002 and quality assurance discipline.
• Trained Six Sigma Green Belts.
• Ability to design high efficiency and stability of jig and fixture according to part / product requirement.
• With Supervisory experience, managing a small team size will be an advantage.
