Because ZF Wind Power keeps on growing, we are looking for a Senior Chemical Expert to join our team in our headquarters in Lommel.

What you can look forward to as Senior Chemical Expert Wind Power:

• Responsible for gearbox oils (assessment and approval), sealants, process chemicals, chemical and surface cleanliness, corrosion protection, washing processes, paint & primer systems, packaging requirements, and chemical legislation
• Ownership and development of related specifications, standards, and qualification procedures
• Close collaboration with suppliers and customers, including technical assessment and qualification of chemical products
• Cross-functional work across departments (e.g. Technology, Process Engineering, Logistics, HSE) and countries (Belgium, Germany, India, China) 
• Provide expert guidance on chemical selection, material compatibility, failure analysis, and process improvements while acting as the subject matter expert for chemical-related topics across the organization

Your Profile as Senior Chemical Expert Wind Power:

• Master’s Degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science & Engineering, or a related discipline (e.g. Polymer Science, Surface Engineering, or Corrosion Engineering)
• Strong knowledge of industrial lubricants and additives, tribology, polymers, coatings, corrosion protection, and chemical compatibility. Experience with wind turbine gearbox lubricants is preferred
• Experience with laboratory analytical techniques (e.g. FTIR, GC-MS) and chemical compliance frameworks and legislation, including REACH and RoHS as well as in developing technical specifications, standards, and qualification procedures for industrial products or processes
• Ability to provide technical leadership and expert guidance across multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication skills, accountability, and a collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in global cross-functional teams
• Fluent in English; Dutch is an advantage and open for international travel
