System Simulation Engineer (HIL)

We are looking for a new colleague in the Systems Engineering Department at our location in Livonia, Michigan.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Daily support for the running of hardware in the loop (HIL) simulators built for testing state-of-the-art ZF Brake Control systems.
  • HIL simulators typically include hydraulic lines, electrical harness, brake hardware, electohydraulic control unit, brake pedal, MC and booster, and  simulation computer(s).
  • Engineering responsibilities will include the running of the HIL systems and help with automation scripting, data acquisition, data analysis and reporting.
  • Based upon experience, various modeling support responsibilities, relating to the vehicle systems, may also be required.
  • This is a growing field and is also an excellent opportunity to learn about advanced vehicle control systems.
  • As the trend increases toward simulated development and validation testing, this discipline will grow to require collaboration with various vehicle manufacturers to define and execute development and testing schemes that reduce overall program timing and costs related to the release of
    new vehicle programs and chassis control system architectures.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other related engineering fields is required and a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Previous experience with vehicle simulation, either desktop or real-time, is desired but not required.
  • Some knowledge of vehicle dynamics is required (modeling, not driving).
  • Experience in Matlab and Simulink or similar analysis package(s) strongly desired.
  • Experience with C coding a plus.
