 Position Summary: The Accountant II reports to the Foundation Brakes Financial Controlling Manager within the Active Safety Systems Division. This position supports the month end closing process for Foundation Brakes product line, performs monthly accounting transactions, account reconciliations, analysis and has local system and reporting responsibilities for several ledgers. The position also supports various financial reporting requests from product line, regional, divisional, or corporate management teams

Position Responsibilities:

• Month end close responsibilities: Record journal entries, open/close financial periods, verify exchange rates, headcount review, load financial data to consolidated reporting system, balance financial reports from local ERP to reporting system

• Perform various general ledger account analysis

• Monthly account reconciliations

• QAD ERP account creation and SAP ZP8 mapping maintenance

• Update internal control documentation for local staff ledgers, as well as support the BU

• Collect data and file returns for sales & use tax, property tax and GST/HST

• Support internal/external audit request

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or business-related discipline
• Working experience of 2+ years
• Hands-on, energetic, organized, proactive team player with proven ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment and facilitate change, multitask effectively, and work independently
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to communicate effectively across all levels of staff
• Excellent attention to detail

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

• Experience with SAP Business Objects, SAP and QAD ERP desired
• Automotive industry experience ​​​​​​​
