Materials Planning and Logistics Manager

We are looking for a new colleague in the Supply Chain Management department at our location in Livonia, MI.

 

  • Lead Materials Planning and Logistics activities for the Active Safety Division and cast products as primary responsibility.
  • Raw material and Planning Optimization support for Division A NA
  • Coordinate MPS weekly revisions with Plant Materials Managers.
  • Global Supply Chain coordination for the Active Safety Division. Supports Foundation Brakes and Brake controls as requested by Regional Senior Manager.
  • Coordinate with peers in Europe and AP Global critical components allocation programs.
  • Coordinate SIOP monthly process.
  • Customer interaction with domestic and international customers.
  • Logistics management from supplier production point to final point of use in North American sites.
  • Continuous freight costs analysis (Cost per LB, ocean containers and TL utilization level) main driver for freight cost reduction initiatives implementation at plant level.
  • Track and categorize Duties paid.  Highlight Duties rates changes (GSP, US and Mexico International duty agreements).
  • Facilitate, coordinate/expedite critical Import-Export activities with US Customs critical teams.
  • Lead the next year OP Standard freight forecast by Component level.
  • In conjunction with regional manager, define optimal inventory targets Inventory turn rate
  • Implement production control systems consistent with lean materials flow systems, including pull systems, kanban, line side delivery, and level scheduling.
  • Responsible for “critical” supplier management as required.

 
Qualifications

 

  • B.S. Degree (Engineering, Supply chain or similar field preferred).
  • Minimum of five years of Materials Management leadership experience within large manufacturing and assembly environment.
  • Experience in implementing lean production techniques in a manufacturing environment and Six Sigma Greenbelt status preferred.
  • Experience within Automotive supplier preferred.
  • SAP, QAD, ERP experience required.
  • Experience Implement lean tools and digitalization
  • Successfully standardize process to improve KPI’s.
  • Ability to build strong relationship with Customers and Suppliers
