About the team:
We are looking for a new colleague in our Braking Engineering team at our location in Livonia, MI! The Chassis Solutions Division of ZF North America offers application specific solutions for a variety of different automotive Steering, Braking, Suspension and Chassis Components. Continued growth in our Livonia, MI office has created an opportunity for a motivated student to join our team!

What you can look forward to as an Engineering Intern:

• Working with OEM customers to meet system and vehicle attribute goals for brake rotors, drums, hubs and calipers such as balance, stopping distance, squeal, roughness, pedal feel, thermal, etc.  
• Coordinate vehicle component updates on development, durability, performance objectives, timing and cost.
• Participate in vehicle development and customer demonstrations.
• Support vehicle durability and development activities at test tracks. 
• Evaluate and solve technical issues in product development.
• Support cost saving activities.
• Generate reports as required. Interface and communicate with both internal and external customers on technical matters. 
• Maintain appropriate engineering procedures throughout the product development process to achieve engineering deliverables which include cost, reliability and manufacturing objectives.

Your profile as an Engineering Intern:

• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent. Enrolled full-time at an accredited university majoring in Mechanical or a related engineering degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills, must be computer literate utilizing data spreadsheets, word processing and have the ability to learn and use custom software
• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Display personal maturity and a high level of professionalism.
