ZF Active Safety US Inc. has a job opening for the position of Engineer III - Software based out of its location in Livonia, MI.

Job Duties:  Develop and test software designs/architectures for state of the art micro-controllers, mixed signal asics, sensors, switches, and actuators used in electronic braking systems; Analyze software requirements, designs, and architecture, develop software test specifications, and execute software tests using automated and manual HIL test environments; Communicate, plan and coordinate skills to manage test cycles on critical projects; Interface with software developers, offshore partners, test tool suppliers, OEM customers, and other technical/support personnel; Perform software safety analyses to identify whether software can contribute to hazard; Identify specific software modules or functions associated with hazard cause, identify hazard elimination and control methodologies, and verify inhibits and controls incorporated to eliminate or mitigate hazards are effective; Perform software safety-critical assessments based on governments and civilian safety standards; Ensure bi-directional traceability between software safety requirements and system hazards, which traces down to software design, implementation, and verification method; Ensure safety issues related to software are addressed and specific safety analyses/tests are performed where safety issues and potential hazards; Support safety managers, interact with customer software safety organizations, and coordinate with systems safety group. A hybrid (in-office and telecommute) work schedule is available. Position may require occasional travel within the U.S., to be reimbursed by employer.

Requirements:  Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field, plus one year of software engineering experience. The one year of software engineering experience must include experience using Embedded C, CAN/LIN, and ECUs.
