Customer Applications Engineer

We are looking for a new colleague in the North America Transplant Customer Applications Department at our location in Livonia, Michigan.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Support project from concept to launch.
  • Coordinate engineering activities to deliver products designed to meet customer requirements.
  • Define and agree on project scope with customer and manage project to agreed scope.
  • Support customer approval of the PPAP.
  • ZF technical lead for the customer regarding the overall project.  Primary technical interface with ZF customers on brake projects.
  • Maintain engineering timing to meet customer key milestones.
  • Participate in design for manufacturing reviews with ZF manufacturing sites.
  • Participate in DFMEA and PFMEA reviews.
  • Support vehicle testing.

 

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of automotive product engineering experience working in product design and development with a preferred focus on brake design and/or vehicle brake development.
  • Familiar with OEM component design and release system including other chassis components (steering, suspension, etc).
  • Computer literate utilizing data spreadsheets and word processing. Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Approximately four weeks of travel per year required to support vehicle tests, review supplier plants and customer support.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt certification preferred.
