We are looking for a new colleague on the Cloud Services Team at our location in Ypres. 


About the Senior Cloud Platform Engineer role at ZF in Ypres:
In this team, it is our ambition to build the most reliable, efficient, and secure platform to allow delivery teams to build best in class solutions for our customers. Automation, orchestration, and self-service are key drivers to deliver frictionless experience towards our internal developer community and customers. This core layer will function as the foundation for the future connected mobility platform being able to support millions of vehicles and other assets. 
In the role of Senior Cloud Platform engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies to grow the platform as a real product together with us and help to drive the architecture, implementation of best practices and the design of our microservices landscape for a fully connected future.


Your tasks as Senior Cloud Platform Engineer:

  • Maintain and develop the core platform in line with business requirements, integrating the best-in-class technologies in a cost efficient and reliable way.
  • Actively contribute to our platform roadmaps in the areas of microservices architecture, API-management, observability, and developer efficiency
  • Follow and understand technology trends to support new and future needs to continuously develop and improve our solutions
  • Proactively identify bottlenecks and optimize product/service performance to improve user experience
  • Support delivery teams with best practices and usage of our core platform stack, be part of the community of practice and share expertise and knowledge with the larger ZF engineering community and drive the change towards product or market oriented organization with cross-functional and independent teams 


Your profile as Senior Cloud Platform Engineer:

  • Computer Science degree or equivalent and multiple years of experience working with and supporting cloud and DevOps technologies
  • Experience with Terraform infrastructure as code tooling and with configuration management, setting up CI/CD pipelines. Gitlab knowledge is a plus.
  • Experienced building solutions on AWS (Amazon Web Services) cloud platform
  • Familiar with microservices architecture and good understanding of cloud application design and approach principles (Kubernetes, API-management, observability)
  • Experienced with full software development lifecycle and delivery using Agile practices using at least 1 scripting and 1 programming language
