Senior Technician - Lab Electronics

We are looking for a new colleague in the Engineering department at our location in Lafayette, Indiana.
 
What you can look forward to as Senior Technician - Lab Electronics:

• Diagnose and repair problems associated with laboratory test equipment.
• Troubleshoot - electronic control systems and data acquisition systems. 
• Use of data acquisition instrumentation and computers - to control and monitor lab testing is required.  Record and report result as needed.
• On-vehicle evaluations – instrument vehicles for product testing with data acquisition systems for system evaluation our products.  Several repetitions may be required depending on the test results for development projects.  Record and report result as needed. 
• Team member – work well within the lab team regarding providing assistance to others when needed and sharing responsibility for efficient lab operation. 
• 5S methodology, keep the work area clean and orderly. 
• Some travel will be required 10% domestic and 2% international.

Your profile as Senior Technician - Lab Electronics:

• Associates Degree in electronics related field
• 4+ years work experience
• Experience working with electronic equipment such as, DVMs, Oscilloscopes, Frequency generators and Sound level meters.
• Experience with set-up and troubleshooting of data acquisition instrumentation systems that measure parameters such as hydraulic flow, pressure, mechanical torque, force, vibration, and acceleration.
• Understanding of Vehicle CAN bus and embedded software system tools like Vector CANapy and CANalyzer and vehicle communication protocols (specifically, J1939, CAN, and UDS).
• Competence with electronic bench work (soldering, troubleshooting, cable construction)
• Ability to read electrical/electronic schematics and mechanical blueprints.
• Database design and maintenance for lab test stand data acquisition systems.
