ZF Active Safety and Electronics US, LLC has job openings (multiple) for the position of Project Quality Planning Engineer based out of its location in Lafayette, IN.

Job Duties

Spearhead Quality Planning for new products, acc. to GDPEP and CVS-PEP (focus HW Design) process to achieve Safe Launch, Quality KPI Targets, and Customer Satisfaction. Ensure quality approval for product releases. Champion a strong Quality Mindset in the project execution and R&D teams. Coordinate Project Quality Strategy and the Supporting Quality Team (SQT). Facilitate understanding of Customer requirements related to quality project/planning. Advance projects/programs GDPEP/APQP quality deliverables to completion. Execute CVS PEP - R&D QA processes for mechanic/hardware. Steer projects to achieve status  green (quality/on-time), highlighting associated risks in the current phase of the project and escalating if  projects turn into "red" (acc. to gate compliance). Ensure completion of APQP and PPAP processes to obtain customer approval in time. Coordinate mitigation and quality escalation/actions for identified risks and opportunities. Oversee quality planning activities to ensure SOP readiness and safe launch. Lead the identification of lessons learned (within PL and in the divisional network team). Promote rigorous track-to closure execution in the project routines. Provide functional excellence for problem resolution/RCA for non conformities and critical issues impacting the customer or putting the project at risk. Actively contribute solution-oriented quality improvements across project activities. Support CVS PEP R&D Quality Assurance process in the project: Ensure quality approval for product releases. Facilitate understanding of SW Customer requirements related to quality project/planning. Steer projects to achieve ECP status green. Highlight risks in the current phase of the project if projects deviate (acc. to gate compliance). Coordinate mitigation and quality escalation/actions for identified project risks with regards to CVS PEP. Lead the identification of Q lessons learned for R&D. Guide and monitor the Development Supplier Process. Perform Release Reviews for System Software scope. Consolidate and provide inputs to the PPAP Team and conduct Software PPAP. Analyze findings and support in defining corrective actions to close identified gaps. A hybrid (in-office and telecommute) work schedule is available. 10% travel required to customer and manufacturing sites in domestic and international locations to support project related activities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineer, Industrial Engineering or closely related field plus 4 years of experience in quality assurance in the automotive field and demonstrated experience with: ASPICE: ISO 15504 (Automotive SPICE); ASPICE provisional assessor; Functional Safety, including ISO 26262 (Functional Safety Management); APQP/PPAP and GDPEP/CVS-PEP; Quality Management Systems, including IATF 16949; Product Audit list and Requalification; Customer requirements including Control Plan, FMEA, PCM, IMDS, and RFMEA; Process Audit VDA 6.3; Lean manufacturing: Value Stream Design, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methods; Design for Six Sigma, and Design of Experiments; Project Management using Cplace and Microsoft Project; Product Lifecycle Management or Application Lifecycle Management using IBM Doors, PTC Integrity / Windchill RV&S, Power-Bi, Stages, and NaKeDa; Root cause analysis tools, including 8D, Fault Tree Analysis, Pareto, and Shainin Red X; Statistical Process Tools including Minitab, PC-DMIS, and Cause and Effect Diagram; Planning and execution of assessments and audits using ASPICE, process audits, and IATF 16949; Internal IATF 16949 Auditor Certified; Production Part Approval Process (PPAP – AIAG); and Testing and review methodology for customer and system audits within project lifecycle.
