We are looking for a new colleague in the Materials Department at our Plant location in Lafayette, Indiana.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the materials functions that include production planning/scheduling, inventory management, customer service, outside processing, providing accurate releases to the suppliers, material handling, and shipping/receiving
• Key leader in the collaborative relationship between engineering, manufacturing and assembly operations to ensure a quality process and product
• Develop and review the production plan to ensure that the customer delivery plan is met in the most efficient and cost-effective manner available
• Responsible for timely management of delivery schedule plan, while keeping an eye toward continuous improvement in existing practices
• Implement and maintain control systems consistent with lean materials flow systems, including pull systems, kanban, line side delivery, and level scheduling
• Direct the receipts, storage and delivery of inventory in the plant and provide leadership to meet inventory targets and budget

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum of 8 years of materials management experience within a large manufacturing and assembly facility required (preferably within an automotive environment)
• Experience in implementing lean production techniques in a manufacturing environment required
• Experience in managing multiple supply bases, both internal and external, required
• SAP and/or ERP experience required
