Director, Product Portfolio and Program Management

We are looking for a new Director to lead Product Portfolio and Program Management for ZF’s Commercial Vehicle Steering Systems Product Line. The position holder will be at our location in Lafayette, Indiana.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Product Portfolio and Program Management staff across ZF’s Commercial Vehicle Steering Systems Product Line in the following ZF locations: Lafayette, Indiana; Queretaro, Mexico; Pamplona, Spain; Düsseldorf, Germany; and Suzhou, China
  • Lead Program Management and ensure safe launches of all customer programs globally, strengthening the global Program Management organization for the Product Line to support successful execution of new programs (quality, timing, BOM/sales, MPBT) and launches
  • Conduct weekly program reviews and manage the launches cross-functionally
  • Define and implement relevant business processes as well as set targets and ensure achievement by driving implementation
  • Lead the Product Portfolio strategy development by developing strategic product roadmaps for technology growth and customer growth (new and existing) through working closely with key functions (Engineering, Sales & Marketing)
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps
  • Responsible for the development process for parts standardization and controlled approval process for deviations during CQA and GDPEP process
  • Conduct regular Portfolio Strategy reviews to adjust the product strategy to mega trends, customer or legislative requirements
  • Define targets for product standardization (on product/part family level)

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Master’s Degree in Engineering or MBA preferred)
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the automotive industry (experience at an OEM or major supplier preferred)
  • Multi-year senior management experience as well as broad international experience with a proven track record of success in leading international teams
  • Experience working cross-functionally (Finance, Planning, Marketing) in a Global organization accomplishing sales objectives as well as managing multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Strong communication, strategic and analytical skills
  • Ability to generate original and innovative solutions with a proven record of success in implementing cost efficiencies as well as method and technology improvements
  • Domestic and international travel required, up to 30%
  • Deep understanding of Commercial Vehicle Steering Systems industry, markets, customers and products highly preferred
