Logistics Manager

We are looking to hire a Logistics Manager to join our team at Juárez.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Evaluate plant logistics operations, review work of personnel, track costs/budget, enforce company policy, complete performance reviews, make staffing and disciplinary recommendations, initiate and/or recommend Changes-In-Status, and resolve issues with day-to-day operations and/or customers as required.
  • Guide, develop and motivate employees, champion individual and team efforts, and aid in the development of professionals and production staff to achieve individual leadership and company objectives.
  • Provide technical, organizational, and team leadership for logistics operations and related activities.
  • Identify tools/equipment needs and organizational skill requirements, assess gaps in key skill areas and testing capacity, implement activities to close the gaps and strengthen plant logistics efficiency, and provide input and recommendations to plant management as required.
  • Identify trends in demand and supply; define areas of concern in meeting the master schedule from a raw material and/or production standpoint and provide a corrective action plan as necessary.
  • Organize and lead physical inventories; analyze and report inventory results and findings. 
  • Review major inventory variances in order to establish corrective/preventive actions and expedite materials if inventory discrepancies cause stockouts affecting production plans.
  • Develop and maintain KanBan card systems to control inventory by overriding the MRP system and to signal the start of production, material issuing and/or material purchasing.
  • Manager cycle count process in the plant; audit, investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and cycle count errors.
  • Provide adequate inventory control to all parts, taking additional security measures to expensive or attractive materials; review and update materials flow (logically and physically) for improvements, backlog and solutions to material handling and inventory challenges.
  • Oversee all transactions from incoming to finished goods shipments to assure inventory accuracy and timeliness of materials received, stored, produced and shipped.
  • Maintain a safe, productive work environment for the employees satisfying ZF quality standards and policy.
  • Lead continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Lead plant logistics compliance with all TS16949 and ISO-14001 requirements, customs/trade regulations, ZF corporate policies, and divisional directives; develop and enforce department Key Performance Indicators (KPI) metrics and SAP procedures.
  • Following tasks on the  ZFE  security and control system (SACS) .
  • Know the environmental aspects and impacts related to their work, as well as the contribution in compliance obligation, the effectiveness of the environmental management system and the implications for the environment in case of non-compliance.
     
    Requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in the automotive and/or electronics component industries, including experience encompassing a majority of the following fields – operational finance, manufacturing planning, engineering, quality, sales & purchasing
  • Experience managing personnel
  • 4+ years of supervisory and/or managerial experience in a manufacturing environment (Preferred)
  • Manufacturing methods and techniques for evaluating productivity
  • Familiarity with financial reporting statements
  • TS16949 awareness training
  • Knowledge of 5S and/or Six Sigma problem-solving methodology
  • Knowledge of Kanban systems
  • Additional education and/or formal training in project management and finance (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with plant operations, including automation and complex assembly (Preferred)
  • Customer Requirements: Comply with the VW F2940 Requirements Matrix.
  • Methods of communication, motivation, negotiation, and conflict management skills with a high level of initiative/drive.
  • ERP SAP.
