Job description:

ZF produces mechatronic systems for lots of different applications. Always, these systems need actuators and sensors to fulfill their purpose.

These actuators and sensors must optimized in terms of functionality, package and costs.

However, this task is not trivial, since a lot of parameters must be considered and the calculation
scheme is quite complex. Therefore, specialists are needed which go deep into this issue and accumulate expertise to find the best solution.

Your tasks:

• Design and optimization of magnetic-based or inductive actuator and sensor systems with the help of finite-element simulation and Matlab / python-based tools <to communicate with Ansys>
• Developing scripts to automatize parametric optimization and evaluation afterwards
• Comparing simulation results to measurement results and interpreting potential deviations between them.
• Discussion with internal customers how to optimize the system in order to improve the performance.
• Developing standardized simulation workflows and description of models

<Park locking systems, Braking, Steering, EM solenoids>

Your skills:

• Good knowledge of magnetism and magnetic material necessary
• Basic knowledge of hall-based sensors and/or electromagnetic actuators desirable
• Good experience in finite element simulation, especially magnetic problems, necessary
• Experience in Ansys Maxwell desirable
• Good experience in Matlab essential / Python desirable
• Skill for detailed documentation and understandable presentation of simulation results
