About the Team

The ZF Global Purchasing Team in Guangzhou is responsible for providing global and sustainable competitiveness for ZF and its suppliers. The team manages the supply chain in order to provide our customers with the best products.

What you can look forward to as Commodity Buyer:

• Strategic sourcing for Commodity Electric Motors & Components, Electromechanics Cluster.
• Management of supply base to include renewal of agreements and assisting suppliers in problem solving and tracking corrective actions;
• Conducting supplier assessments for potential new suppliers.
• Gathering and analysis of supplier data to prepare analysis and recommendation for supplier selection, with focus on sourcing in low-cost countries.
• Work with suppliers to develop continuous improvement plans and metrics to monitor performance.
• Develops and execution of global Part Family Strategy and sourcing strategies and prepares monthly reports to track and show sourcing strategy and progress, including achievement of spend reduction targets.
• Interface with internal customers on critical supplier issues as necessary.
• Presentation of research, decisions, etc., as required, to next-level or executive management.
• Position may also provide advise/guidance to buyers or Senior buyers within the Commodity or Global Purchasing function and/or lead special projects as assigned by senior leadership.
• This position will also require some travel, globally or regionally depending on assigned supply base.

Your Profile as Commodity Buyer:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 2-3 years’ experience within direct purchasing, including experience negotiating with suppliers and managing the supply base post-negotiations preferred.
• Fluent English.
• Manufacturing and/or Automotive work experience highly preferred.
• Demonstrated performance in working cross-functionally and/or within a matrixed organization and working independently to obtain results.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams).
