About the Team
This is a new aftermarket engineering team that is being setup to support the North America Category Management team based in USA and Mexico.  Currently the product engineering efforts are being performed by the category management staff located in Mexico (Mexico City, Guadalajara).  The purpose is to move these activities to this new aftermarket product engineering team based in Monterrey.  This new aftermarket product engineering team will support the new aftermarket product releases for North America.

What you can look forward to as a Product Engineer in Aftermarket
 

• Main tasks would include: Working with category managers on part numbers that will need to be released in the ZF PIMS aftermarket system.  Working with part number cross references between original equipment (OE) and other aftermarket suppliers
• Working with suppliers to get appropriate documentation and sample products to evaluate. This includes reviewing documentation (inhouse and third party suppliers).  Comparing OE samples to third party samples, measuring parts to OE samples and supplier drawings. 
• Develop/Build an engineering lab at ZF Monterrey Technical Center to include proper measurement and analysis equipment and tools needed to support the product releases for CatMan.  This includes verifying equipment needed, working with the ZF purchasing system to get quotes and then working with the ZF CAPEX approval process to get funding approval and purchase the equipment needed.
• Some travel to new third party suppliers to support finding suppliers to grow our aftermarket product portfolio.  Evaluate suppliers product engineering development, reverse engineering, testing and validating products.

Your Profile as Product Engineer in Aftermarket
 

• BS engineering degree – mechanical or electrical required
• Proficient English skills (reading, speaking, writing) since this position will be dealing with people in USA and suppliers from other regions of the world where English is the common language
• Microsoft Office Skills required
• 3-5 years of product engineering experience in an automotive or similar industry required
• Experience with understanding product drawings, dimensions, and tolerances required
• Experience working with teams and team members required
• CAD experience (to design measurement fixtures/tools) preferred
• Automotive components/systems experience preferred
• Ability to travel (10%)
