The Principal Buyer – Iron and Aluminum Castings will manage a portfolio of components for ZF products, analyze market conditions to ensure market-competitiveness, and develops commodity or part family strategies.  This position negotiates contracts with suppliers and ultimately ensures that materials are of the quality and quantity negotiated.

What can you look forward as a Principal Buyer:

• Manage portfolio of machined and raw iron and aluminum castings for ZF's manufacturing footprint, primarily located in North America
• Lead development of commodity and part family strategies for multiple Business Units in different region
• Negotiate contracts that at optimal material costs to achieve year-over-year savings targets and for materials that are of the quality and quantity negotiated; lead role for assigned suppliers
• Support cost saving initiatives through source reviews, bundling opportunities, and market benchmarking activities
• Build current Supplier and cross-functional relationships
• Identify new casting Suppliers for potential development

Your profiles as a Principal Buyer:

• Degree in Materials/Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Program Management preferred

• Recommended +8 years of related work experience, with a track record in negotiation, decision-making, and working within a matrix team with limited supervision
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems helpful
• Strong written, communication, organizational and detail-orientated skills, as part of a global cross-functional matrix team
• Occasional business travel (as permitted) internal-ZF and/or Supplier visits
