Position Summary: The Engineering Intern is responsible for supporting the test engineering team responsible for test engineering of powertrain modules.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Assists in defining, planning, documenting, executing, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting on tests and results for new development projects and current products and components.
  • Assists in the design, analysis and interpretation of product and component tests.
  • Investigates and resolves operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical staff.
  • Provides advice and technical support to engineering groups.
  • Assists technicians in the set-up and performance of tests.
  • Provides engineering support for the re-working, repairs and improvement of existing test equipment.
  • Assists in development of internal quality control and reliability programs.
  • Coordinates with external labs / suppliers for testing of requirements that exceed current in-house testing capabilities.

 

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

 

  • Must be a student currently enrolled in a four-year engineering degree program at an accredited institution
  • Possess a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Self-motivated to expand knowledge and to continuously improve
  • Basic knowledge in Mechanical Engineering
  • Technical drawing reading skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

 

Preferred Skills and experience

 

  • Data Processing knowledge (FAMOS or similar)
  • TS16949 awareness
  • Experience in Automotive industry
  • German and/or Spanish language skills
