About the Position
The Supply Chain Manager – Inbound Logistics is responsible for developing new strategies and maintaining and improving existing processes within the Inbound Logistics Department at ZF Transmissions Gray Court (ZFTG), a manufacturing plant with more than 1,000 employees. This role ensures the uninterrupted physical and system flow of raw materials, components, and services from both internal and external sources, as well as the timely and accurate exchange of related information across all involved organizations.
What you can look forward to as the Supply Chain Manager- Inbound Logistics:
- Manage inbound logistics operations, including goods receiving, warehousing, and internal distribution, in a high‑pace, complex manufacturing environment.
- Develop and implement best‑in‑class warehousing practices that optimize time, space, safety, and efficiency to support high‑frequency internal distribution.
- Drive cost reduction and operational efficiency initiatives through continuous improvement and data‑driven recommendations.
- Evaluate, justify, and champion automation and material handling/storage equipment projects to improve material flow and reduce total operational costs.
- Review and validate business cases, cost estimates, project calculations, and technical designs for logistics automation and material handling solutions.
- Lead the development and execution of the material handling and storage equipment strategic roadmap.
- Oversee the functionality, utilization, and continuous improvement of warehousing and distribution equipment, while supporting Agile and LEAN‑based logistics models.
- Lead and develop the logistics team by providing resources, training, and equipment, and support ZFTG goals through planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities.
Your Profile as Supply Chain Manager- Inbound Logistics:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- Strong computer skills are required: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Project, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.
- SAP knowledge and expert-level knowledge of supply chain principles and best practices in industry.
- Minimum five (5) years supervisory/managerial experience.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in Supply Chain/Logistics or related field.
- Extensive experience with contracts, sourcing, and in-depth knowledge of specialized methods and techniques.
- Experience with plant operational interfaces and in-depth understanding of plant supply chain processes and procedures.
