Superintendent - Special Projects

We are looking for a new colleague to join our manufacturing engineering department at our plant in Gray Court, SC!

 

The Superintendent – Special Projects is responsible for leading special projects to support the engineering and production department to meet and/or exceed customer and company objectives.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical projects within operations and engineering groups.
  • Actively participate as a strategic member of the ZF management team with a customer focused approach on safety, quality, deliver, cost, and morale to ensure continuous improvement in all facets of the business.
  • Manage manufacturing/assembly activities to manufacture and produce quality parts in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Plan, select, design, and develop manufacturing methods and processes through continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers to meet common goals.
  • Manage the team within our production system, (Safety, ISO, QS, TS, etc.) company policies, and procedures.
  • Track and train production employees for growth and development by ensuring employees are qualified and trained for assigned position and current level qualifications.
  • Understand and construct relationships to develop and build teams to meet customer demands and satisfaction, solve internal process issues, and implement and monitor continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate department's operating results in support of plant’s business plan.
  • Establish department goals with relevant measures. Ensure corrective actions are taken for any applicable non-conformances.
  • Communicate to department personnel regarding department and plant activities and issues in accordance with Company Communications Policy.
  • Understand and comply with IATF 16949 and ISO 14000 requirements.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 6-8 years of progressive experience in a professional position with a strong production interface
  • 3+ years of experience in project management and/or supervisory function
  • Strong computer skills are required: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Project, etc.
  • Expert level knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within manufacturing/operations.
  • Proven ability to use and train individuals to use production/manufacturing equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of plant operations management and lean principles, processes, and techniques.
  • Ability for travel-both domestic and foreign.
