Overview: ZF Test Systems develops and produces test benches for on- and off-road mobility. The Test Systems Business Unit is a special machine building branch within the ZF group, specialized in Test equipment design / installation / commissioning. Position Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation and evaluation of project programs from initial conception to full execution for an array of different programs. These project and programs will center on the topic of customer capital equipment assembly, onsite- installation and commissioning.  Must utilize defined ZF methodology and close cooperation with the customer and Test System organization. This position oversees managing the design and development of projects from concept to after implementation evaluations while directing and steering team members (internal/ external) for successful completion of a project both within time and budgetary constraints.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Create & control documentation which instruct project management from headquarter, engineering, purchasing, service and other team functions on the project scope from customer PO to customer acceptance and handover to service.
  • Support the troubleshooting and resolution of arising issues on the customer side as well as on Test Systems side. Lead and direct the project and manage conflicts within the team/area.
  • Develop & maintain a roadmap for project controlling which incorporates local and global targets, goals for projects as well as corporate initiatives in transforming the operations.
  • Facilitate/conduct project meetings regularly in conjunction with management, support staff, groups affected by the project and other pertinent personnel and be prepared to discuss updates on assigned tasks
  • Promote cohesive project teams, encourage team members to participate/ contribute to the project success. Involving the defined 3rd parties and be 1st point of contact for customer as well as ZF project team members.
  • Routinely provide supervision of a project or multiple projects to achieve a cohesive vision.
  • Use program plans and other metrics to support project reviews with management.
  • Report status of Project(s) to Steering committee/Management Team/Business Unit and implement actions to mitigate any risks to the project.

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, or related field or comparable experience
  • 6+ years experience in the field of PM within the production/ testing equipment industry
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced, demanding environment
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management
  • Solid organization and time/project management skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
