NVH Engineer II

We are seeking a new NVH Engineer to join our Quality Production Assembly department in Gray Court, SC!

 

Responsibilities

  • Monitor manufacturing processes and assess product quality to determine adequacy, capability and ability to comply with customer specifications and company’s specifications.
  • Develop and maintain documents and procedures related to quality standards, risk analysis, lessons learned from product recalls, product audits, field returns and repairs, complaints, scrap, and rework, and retain documented information as evidence.
  • Interpret prints and measurement tools (GD&T).
  • Utilize basic quality tools along with problem solving and lean manufacturing techniques in the support of continuous improvement, root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions promoting lessons learned process.
  • Perform activities in coordination with other departments, effectively respond and communicate in a timely manner. Developing and maintaining productive working relationships.
  • Initiate, complete and ensure proper conformity of engineering changes to quality standards.
  • Trigger additional escalation levels as needed in order to protect internal and external customer.
  • Elaborate independent analysis of acoustic measurements / vehicle testing with automatic trans-missions to identify noise sources and transmission paths
  • Development of correlations between acoustic serial test benches and the behavior of automatic transmissions in vehicles
  • Set point care for noise testing, statistical analysis and presentations of test results
  • Continuous development of the acoustic test methods in collaboration with technical institutions and acoustic specialist at ZF
  • Support Warranty and noise root cause analysis
  • Perform verification of tests with failure simulations and experimental setups
  • Commissioning and acceptance of machines with the responsible departments
  • Pareto Analysis for internal rejects and drive corrective action in cooperation with other departments
  • Processing of stop notes.

 
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 3+ years of related progressive experience in a manufacturing or technical environment.
  • Background in NVH and/or functional testing.
  • Proven ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures
  • Proven creativity and analytical methods with a high-level of attention to detail
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
