ZF Transmissions Gray Court, LLC has multiple openings for the position of Lead Spec/Supv - Six Sigma based out of its location in Gray Court, SC.

 

Job Duties:  Work in compliance with Quality requirements (e.g., ISO 14000; IATF 16949); Monitor manufacturing processes & assess product quality to determine adequacy, capability, and ability to comply with the customer’s and company's specifications on defined Six Sigma projects; Develop and maintain documents and procedures related to Six Sigma projects (e.g., risk analysis, lessons learned, training matrix, DMAIC steps/tools); Interpret prints & measurement tools (GD&T); Provide guidance to White, Yellow, Green, Black Belts and Champions on the proper application of Six Sigma Methodology and tools; Utilize basic quality tools along with problem solving and lean manufacturing techniques in the support of continuous improvement, root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions promoting lessons learned process; Ensure implementation of the Six Sigma Program at the plant and its success in in terms of project coordination (project "waves") and savings; Mentor the projects' team members in using advanced problem-solving methodologies such as Six Sigma and/or Shainin; Develop the standards, templates, and trainings for the Six Sigma Program; Perform activities in coordination with other departments to develop and maintain productive working relationships; Lead cross-functional working groups, drive activities to conclusion and lead/facilitate workshops and meetings with the Management team; Escalate project issues, as needed, to ensure the Six Sigma Program's success; Maintain an auditor's perspective to provide solutions for all selected Six Sigma projects

Job Responsibilities Continued

Work with other departments and the Management team to select the Six Sigma projects for each "wave" and the Green and Black Belts as well as their team members to lead the projects; Facilitate workshops with Management team in order to define the strategical projects and their prioritization; Apply appropriate use of statistical techniques using Minitab; Determine when process stability and capability studies should be performed on existing Six Sigma projects. Support Green and Black Belts to review and analyze results, if needed.; Recommend changes to processes based on findings and follow up to verify effectiveness; Determine and perform validation of new and existing errors and mistake-proofing devices on Six Sigma projects; Determine and apply appropriate Measurement System Analysis tools on Six Sigma projects; Resolve quality issues of capability, tolerancing, and materials-related issues on Six Sigma projects; Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources; Monitor and report Six Sigma program and projects' KPIs, to support Company goal achievement; Audit the processes per ZF, Customers and International Associations Standards; Guide and respond to external auditors on topics related to the Six Sigma program and projects; Coordinate and define priorities for general activities of White, Yellow, Green and Black Belts.; Act as an organization’s Six Sigma technologist and internal consultant; Use Six Sigma methodologies to identify root causes of problems and develop solutions in administrative services and operational processes; Promote a culture of continuous improvement within an organization, helping to raise awareness of Six Sigma and its benefits, and encourage employees to participate in Six Sigma projects; Develop a Power BI to create dashboards and reports that track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as process cycle time, defect rate, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering (any), Business,, or a closely related field, plus 5 years of experience as Project Engineer Specialist or any other occupation in which the required experience was gained, and demonstrated experience with: Transmission assembly or high-volume assembly in automotive environment; Six Sigma program implementation and coordination in a large business environment; Mentoring and coaching Six Sigma green belt and black belt professionals;  AIAG and IATF standards, including IATF 16949; Applying Six Sigma methodology in operational support processes (including: Logistics, Purchasing, Supplier Development, Human Resources, After marketing, product engineering, manufacturing, and related areas); Applying Six Sigma methodology in process quality of operations (including Receiving materials, chemical laboratories, metallurgical laboratories, dimensional labs, and related areas)

Applying Six Sigma methodology in the process of gear toothing, shafts, and synchronization of transmission components (including: hobbing, shaping, shaving, broaching, honing, heat treatment, grinding and related processes). PDCA (Plan-do-check-act); FMEA; 3x5 Why Analysis; TQM (Total quality management) and Brainstorming Techniques; Lean Manufacturing; Lean Office; Time & Motion; Spaghetti Charting; Seven Basic Tools of Quality; Kaizen Events; Value Stream Mapping / Value Stream Analysis (VSM/VSA); 8D & Quality tools; 3D & multi-stratification-level graphics; Statistical Hypothesis testing; Linear Regression Analysis; Multi Variable Regression; Design of Experiment (DoE); Six Sigma Master Black Belt recognition certification; Minitab software; Discrete-event simulation software; International experience in automotive industry; and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE).
