Position Summary: This position will provide a student with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment, and to support/promote the graduate’s career goals through contact with professionals in their field of study. The intern will provide administrative support in the areas of employee benefits, payroll, compensation, and recruitment

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Projects within the HR/Employee Relations and Benefits/Payroll
  • Assist with or facilitate benefits and payroll related projects (intern role based on complexity
  • Prepare Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents
  • Prepare correspondence and memos as needed
  • Create presentations
  • Maintain employee files and ensure that filing is done at the end of each week (e.g. personnel files)
  • Supports and complies with established company’s corporate principles

 

Preferred Skills:

  •  Spanish language skills including ability to fluently communicate/translate (verbal and written)
  • Experience with timekeeping systems, such as eTime is a plus

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

 

  • Must currently be enrolled in college as a freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student with an HR-related major 
  • Must have a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Professional demeanor with ability to recognize priority projects and schedule time accordingly
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
