Job Description

About the Team:

The HSSE team is responsible of maintaining environmental and safety compliance throughout the facility through program development, training, auditing and driving continuous improvement.

 

 

What you can look forward to as HSE Specialist:

  • Assist and support the HSSE Supervisor/Manager with the development and implementation of policies, programs and procedures for compliance with HSSE requirements of the company and regulatory agencies (local, state/provincial and national).
  • Support site with achievement of HSSE objectives and targets.
  • Support in the recognition, evaluation and control of work processes with potential hazard/risk exposures relative to safety and the environment, by conducting initial hazard/risk assessments and re-assessments of operations.
  • Act as security coordinator - establish and maintain security programs that contain significant and potential security risks.
  • Provide guidance/support/assistance to the Human Resources Function in relation to their administration of the site’s First-Aid Responder, Personal Protective Equipment (safety shoes, safety glasses, etc.) and Workers Compensation programs (USA Operations).
  • Conduct health/safety programs promoting employee wellness.
  • Participate, as required, in six sigma and O.E. workshop activities.
  • Conduct various safety and environmental related sampling and analysis procedures as defined in operation protocols, procedures and work instructions.

 

 

Your Profile as HSE Specialist:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is a plus
  • 2-5 years of related experience
  • Working knowledge of EPA and/or OSHA regulations and all other regulatory governance.   
  • Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and ability to effectively interface with internal and external personnel
  • Proficient computer skills, strong MS Office (e.g. Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) knowledge
