Environmental Health and Safety Intern

Responsibilities
• Collaborate with EHS professionals and other department leaders to accurately document current practices with other regulatory topics and local directives
• Candidate would be assigned to departmental projects
• Majority of the time will be spent in the production area walking or standing to collect data
• Data collection for Ergonomics by interviewing employees, observing the process, taking videos, and collecting surveys
• Data collection and analysis for HSSE projects
• Enter information into the web-based software system
• Lifting up to 40 pounds to weigh parts may occasionally be required
• Assist with day-to-day tasks answering employee questions related to local policies, issuing badges and payment vouchers for personal protective equipment

Qualifications
• Must currently be enrolled in college as a freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student
• Must have have minimum of a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office including Power BI, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
• Must be able to write in a clearly and professionally 
• Must be proficient with using web-based software to enter data
• Must be able to maintain a high level of professionalism and conform to HIPPA privacy expectations
• Must be able to use a printer/scanner/copy machine
• Must be able to create electronic folders, save documents, change file names, crop and resize images in Microsoft Office products


Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Previous knowledge of OSHA and NFPA regulations (OHSA 30-hour course completion card preferred)
• Knowledge of North American Ergonomics Standards and basic understanding of OSHA regulations will be helpful to this position
• Experience with video creation and editing software
