ZF Transmissions Gray Court, LLC has job openings (multiple) for the position of Engineer III-Manufacturing based out of its location in Gray Court, SC.
Job Duties: Analyze and optimize processes to improve efficiency and ensure adherence to industry standards/principles such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, AIAG / VDA 6.3, and ZF Standards; Monitor and implement vision systems working with vendors including Keyence, Cognex, and SICK to install cameras in the production line and improve process quality; Review product line performance with supervisors daily to analyze downtime and take necessary remedial actions; Lead Continuous improvement activities to improve productivity using various tools such as Value Stream Mapping, PDCA, Kaizen, Kanban, among others; Work with Cross Functional Team to tackle customer complaints and internal quality issues using tools such as Root Cause Analysis, Fault tree analysis, 5 Why, Ishikawa, and 8D; Work with new product launch team to identify requirements and develop a timeline for launch; Ensure updated documents are processed correctly in a timely manner in SAP and IQS; Ensure controlled copies of quality documents are released to the production floor; Work with ZF Production Systems to conduct cycle time study and periodic evaluations; Develop standardized work and Methods-Time Measurement; Perform tooling design and modification; Design and develop new tooling, as well as modify current tooling using Autodesk inventor or PTC – Creo; Design tool taking into consideration GD&T principles; Setup tools in SAP to be reordered and restocked; Collaborate with maintenance to identify required machine wear parts and have them setup in MRO for changeover when needed; Develop business case for installation of cameras; including approval, procurement and programming. Up to 5% travel to domestic and international locations.
Requirements
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field, plus 4 years of experience leading technical projects, and demonstrated experience with: A3, 8D, and 6 Sigma; Vision systems, including Keyence, Cognex, and SICK; Kanban and lean supply chain; PFMEA; SAP for purchase orders, project status, and approval; Minitab; Axalant; Autodesk Inventor; CREO; Shopfloor Management; Customer audits; IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and AIAG / VDA 6.3; and Excel, including Pivot tables to generate reports.
