Engineer III - Manufacturing

We are looking for a new colleague to join our machining department at our plant in Gray Court, SC!

 

Position Summary: Work integrally with maintenance technicians; the maintenance facilitator; engineers and other plant personnel in the analysis of process problems; troubleshooting machining and assembly equipment problems as are appropriate to proper process operation. Selects and implements equipment in the facility.

 

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Design changes to enhance the machine functionality. 
  • Continuously improve and upgrade equipment. 
  • Troubleshoot and solve errors and problems on production equipment. 
  • Plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. 
  • Participates in departmental meetings. 
  • Confers with design staff concerning product design to ensure efficient production methods. 
  • Determines product specifications for the purchase of equipment, materials, tooling, fixturing or parts, according to specifications and quality standards. 
  • Assess potential suppliers for production equipment, tooling and fixturing. 
  • Plan the evolution of the equipment and performs acceptance evaluation according to specifications. 
  • Responsible for the implementation of the equipment on the floor from delivery to hand off to production. 
  • Plan production times, staffing requirements and related costs of production equipment to provide information for management decisions. 
  • Supports day-to-day production. 
  • Responsible for creating procedures, PFMEA’s and workflows to meet industry standards. 
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical methods and problem-solving techniques. 
  • Understand and comply with quality and environmental standards and requirements. 
  • Supports and complies with established Company’s Corporate Principles. 

 

Essential Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering 
  • 5-6 years of experience with strong functional/product knowledge 
  • Ability to train others 
  • Proficient computer skills, strong MS Office (Excel) and knowledge 
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written. 
  • Expert-level knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within Engineering. 
  • Advanced knowledge of product line(s) and engineering design principles.
  • Extensive experience with engineering change systems.
  • In-depth understanding of engineering techniques and principles
  • English language competency both verbal and written. 

 

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) strongly preferred. 
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and knowledge of other CAD tools 
  • Minimum of four (4) years plant problem solving experience on manufacturing equipment. 
  • Five (5) plus years Manufacturing Engineering experience with an automotive company. 
  • Prior experience in assembly/manufacturing environment, plant layout, cost analyst, budgeting, blueprint reading, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
