Job Description

About the team: This position serves as an internal consultant to the maintenance department, across all areas for maintaining production equipment during start-ups, breakdowns, and continuous improvement activities on electrical/controls process issues.

What to look forward to as a Controls Engineer II:

  • Serve as an internal consultant for troubleshooting equipment failures and controls deficiencies, identifying root causes and recommending long-term solutions.
  • Design and implement improvements to PLC/PC-based control systems, including hardware, software, and network (e.g., Ethernet, Profibus) upgrades.
  • Enhance equipment reliability and performance through programming updates, system upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for electrical, automation, and power transmission systems to optimize safety, uptime, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and refine manufacturing equipment controls and automation strategies.
  • Deliver technical training and support for maintenance staff and shop floor users, addressing application use, troubleshooting, and controls understanding.
  • Maintain and update backup files, documentation, and programming standards for all manufacturing and facility systems.
  • Actively engage in professional development and comply with IATF 16949 policies while supporting broader team improvement efforts.

Your profile as a Controls Engineer II:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 3–4+ years of professional experience.
  • Advanced understanding of engineering concepts, design principles, and techniques.
  • Proficient in engineering change systems and familiar with product line processes.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office with emphasis on Excel.
  • Effective communicator with solid English language skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experienced in applying engineering best practices and procedures in technical environments.
