Plant Quality Engineer

Position Summary: The Quality Process Engineer is responsible for ensuring the process quality during the manufacturing of steering and suspension components.

 

Position Responsibilities

Corrective Actions

  • Manage Customer Zero-Mile issues (customer portal’s, etc.)
  • Manage Customer Warranty issues.
    • Facilitate Corrective Action Teams.
    • Perform internal quality investigations
    •  Perform review of customer 0 km & field/warranty returns in a timely manner.
    • Manage 8D investigations or similar Corrective Action Process derived from Product and Process Audits, and from internal quality investigations.
    • Maintain Internal indicators, Process audits.
    • Maintain Records for corrective actions.
    • Prepare zero miles data and report status via electronic graphs.


Advance Quality Planning

  • Serve as Customer contact concerning quality topics; this includes completion, submission & approval of customer PPAP’s as well as ensuring customer-specific requirements.
  • Coordinate new project introduction (product & process) and launch activities to ensure adherences with company procedures, TS16949 requirements and customer expectations.
  • Coordinate regular project team meetings, reviewing progress in line with timing plan and ensures that the team members are kept updated on key project developments/timescale changes.
  • Identify and assign appropriate actions and deadline to ensure that customer, business and technical requirements are fulfilled.
  • Provide guidance to team members on their areas of responsibilities.
  • Provide technical quality support to project core team and to support project team members with the creation of relevant quality documentation for each project –APQP, FMEA, PPAP, MSA, etc.
  • Ensuring that the relevant project documentation is stored per divisional requirements.
  • Coordinating customer onsite related activities (audits, run at rate, etc.)
  • Reviewing and auditing the project management introduction process and identifying areas for continuous improvement and best practice to be established.
  • Participate in Product Design Reviews.
  • Support any Prototype Builds and complete any Customer required documentation

 

Internal Audits

  • Perform Internal Process as prescribed by TCQ
  • Large and Small Production Assessments
  • Perform Cpk, Cmk, SPC studies per AIAG Standards.
  • Perform MSA / Gage R&R studies per AIAG Standards.
  • Manage IMDS website.
  • Initiate and Maintain Quality Control Documentation.
  • Work Instructions
  • Pruf Plan
  • Process FMEA
  • Process Flow
  • Control Plan
  • Inspection Record
  • SPTC


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering
  • 3 to 4 years of experience (internship/co-op included).
  • Advanced knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of product line(s) and engineering design principles.
  • Experience with engineering change systems.
  • Advanced understanding of engineering techniques and principles .
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
