Job Description

About the team: Perform assignments designed to streamline the assembly process by reducing cost and waste, using standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.

 

What you can look forward to as a Manufacturing Engineer:
•    Responsible to maintain accurate conformance to standards records in the SAP system to ensure competent labor rates are sustained.
•    Maintain accurate line layout AUTO-CAD files including all manufacturing equipment and use CREO in tooling designs.
•    Support all facets of manufacturing, initiating proactive problem solving for continuous improvements using design of experiments/8D process as methods.
•    Provide cost studies for future incoming products; capital equipment; tools/gages and a strategy for implementation.
•    Coordinate and facilitate cost reduction efforts with Engineering, Assembly Planning and Purchasing; perform VA/VE analysis of product and process to continuously improve upon assembly safety and productivity.
•    Works closely with Systems Support to provide analysis of assembly line efficiency levels including time studies and facilitate introduction of new methods to support continuous improvement, in terms of productivity, ergonomics and quality.
•    Develop ongoing manufacturing process improvements in view of lean, including minimizing cycle time and quality improvements and report progress at regular department meetings.
•    Works closely with Production Supervisors/ Assembly Technicians in implementing lean principles.
•    Assist Product Engineer in supporting new products during prototype phases.
•    Obtain request for quotes for new equipment.
•    Compose written justification/request/financing/cost analysis for new equipment/technology approval.
•    Participate in developing and maintaining work instructions, control plans and FMEA’s.
•   •    Plan and set-up assembly line modifications for new products, including oversee the design and procurement of assembly tools.
•    Manage and implement goals and strategic objectives that meet the business plan.
•    Mentor, develop assign tasks and evaluate Engineering Coop Students.
•    Support plant wide 5S activities by maintaining an orderly work area compliant to 5S requirements.
•    Understand and comply with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
•    Performs special projects as requested and related tasks as required.

 

Your profile as a Manufacturing Engineer:
•    Bachelors in Engineering 
•    3+ years experience
•    Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and applications 
•    Must be familiar with the metric system to read blueprints and parts engineering specifications. 
•    Documented strong verbal and written-communication skills. 
•    Proficient use of Microsoft Office products. 
•    Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively
