Engineer II - Controls

Coordinate & implement engineering controls & systems activities as they pertain to the Axle Drive Unit Product Lines. These activities include the planning & implementation of process changes / improvements so as to ensure correct assembly, maintain planned productivity levels, and meet operational and quality targets.
 

Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide input to ECM (Engineering Change Management) as it relates to process changes; perform implementation of new processes into Axle Drive Unit assembly.
  • Provide input & support in the development of Process / Assembly FMEA’s.
  • Work closely with Process Quality Engineering as well as with Assembly in order to define & implement corrective actions and provide technical clarification / trouble-shooting of assembly line equipment & processes which are not performing to specification.
  • Coordinate & facilitate VA/VE efforts with Process Quality Engineering & Assembly; perform VA/VE analysis of processes to continuously improve upon assembly safety, and productivity. Develop ongoing process improvements in vie of Lean practices.
  • Works closely with Systems Suppliers & Systems Support to provide analysis of assembly efficiency levels; facilitate introduction of new methods to support continuous improvement, in terms of productivity, ergonomics, and quality.

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering
  • 3 – 4 years of experience (internship/co-op included)
  • Proficient in blue print reading, electrical schematics, and parts engineering specifications
  • Working knowledge of SAP and CAD
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
