Customer Quality Engineer

About the Team: At ZF Gainesville, LLC, located in Gainesville, GA, our Quality team is a group of five professionals dedicated to ensuring the highest standards in axle drive production. The team includes four Process Quality Engineers and one Customer Quality Engineer, all focused on delivering exceptional quality to our customers. As the primary point of contact for customer warranty concerns, the Customer Quality Engineer plays a vital role in maintaining customer satisfaction and upholding ZF’s reputation for excellence in the automotive industry.

 

What you can look forward to as a Customer Quality Engineer:  

  • First point of contact for OEMs with 0-miles and field issues.
  • Record of all technical, warranty-related information from the field and manage the subsequent inspection of defective units and defective parts as well as issue the corresponding failure reports.
  • Arrange and monitor warranty repairs. Support claim settlement and claim decision (according to given standards).
  • Generate monthly report of failure statistics.
  • Set-up & strengthen the relationship with OEMs’ quality / service department.
  • Initiate Early Warning Reports (EWR), organize and manage the assignment of inspectors to investigate/ eliminate failures, and if required, make proposals and review the effects of the assignment under technical / financial aspects.
  • Manage field campaigns and inspect defective parts.
  • Utilize basic quality tools along with problem solving and lean manufacturing techniques in the support of continuous improvement, root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and promoting lessons learned process.

 

Your profile as a Customer Quality Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 2-4+ years of experience as a service engineer (preferably) or as an application/ product engineer within a powertrain and/or OEM or any adjacent industries.
  • Familiar with process related projects.
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel / management.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
